Elton John | Reginald Kenneth Dwight

We are all aware of his investments in the music industry. However, many music fans do not know that Elton John is not his real name. Despite being close friends with the Beatles, he did not take part of his name from one of them.

According to the biofilm Rocketman, he was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight. He later changed his name to Elton John partly because he spotted a photo of John Lennon in his musical publisher’s office and believed that his first name would also be a good last name. After he garnered attention for his remarkable musical ear, the young guy started playing in local bands. One of those bands, Bluesology, included a saxophonist named Elton Dean. The name John originates from the band’s frontman, John Baldry. “Reginald Dwight” aspired to be a solo artist, and he reasoned, rightly, that” Elton John” would be a more appropriate stage name.
