Bono | Paul David Hewson

Many hits in the music scene undoubtedly hail from the rock genre. The industry has had more than a few iconic rock bands through the years and won’t seem to run out of them for generations to come. With that said, one such name that just about everyone has heard of would be U2, led by vocalist Paul David Hewson, though he’s often referred to by a different name.

Even before starting a band, Hewson already received credit from his friends and family for having a good singing voice. One of the groups he joined had a habit of giving each member a nickname, with Hewson’s being Bono Vox. He disliked it at first but decided to stick with it after realizing it literally meant “good voice.” Well, from that point onward, just about everyone knows him simply as Bono, including some of his family members.
